Are You On The Narrow Path?

Hello Ray!

I have a really important question for you about your article "Are You Really Living for the Lord". How do we know the path we are on? If so many people claim to be good Christians, how do we know that we are "Living for God?" I totally understand the Sunday morning Christian reference; however where do we draw the line of what is acceptable and what is not?

I completely understand that we are not to love money or material things. My second question is, if you are fortunate to make decent money is it wrong to have nice professional clothes for work? Is it wrong to try to be the best you can be as long as you are not "cocky" about it or look down on others?

I just sometimes wonder if taking vacations is a sin or buying my daughter a new sweater she likes. I believe it is worthy of discussion. The world has so many people (pastors, ministers, priests, etc.) telling us so many different things. ~~ PZ Reader Paula

You ask some very good questions, the fact that it is important to you tells me that you are on the right path.

In today's world salvation is taught, but sanctification is not. Because of that, people stop at the cross and then use grace as a license to sin.

What is forgotten is that it does not end with the cross, that is where everything begins.

What we need to realize is that a very high price was paid so that we may be seen "spotless" before our Father God.

That sacrifice was Christ being scourged, mocked, tortured and then crucified. Read my latest article The Museum of Idolatry. I end it showing what the world is now mocking, our Lord and Savior.

Here is what scripture says...

Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

What did Christ do for us? He suffered at the hands of the world to pay for our sins.

What then is our reasonable service? To give our lives over to Him and the service of our Lord. Now, we are already Christians, we have the cross, but now we start walking the life of sanctification.

Paul Washer - Are You on The Narrow Path?

Well in light of what has been going on this week and looking at the world in general, sin is running rampant in the Christian community. All of us need a check up from the neck up and that is why I am pulling out one of my favorite Paul Washer Sermons titled "Are You on The Narrow Path?"

Folks, every time I listen to this sermon it convicts me causing me to take account of myself. More than ever we as Christians need to make sure we are serving Him in the best way possible.

Romans 12:1 says… I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (KJV)

How many of us are not living a life holy and acceptable unto God?

How many of us are not giving our reasonable service to the Lord?

How many of us are allowing sin to rule us and are currently running from the Lord?

Global War on Christian Values - Pt 1
Unity in an Anti-Christian World?

The new millennium has brought some ominous changes. Last month alone unleashed a flood of anti-Christian plots around the world. All were designed to suppress God's unchanging truth -- an intolerable obstacle to global solidarity. Even "friendly" regimes have joined this war on faith:

"There is a growing and intensifying attack on Christians around the world. It is not just confined to the Middle East and Islamic countries.

"...lawmakers in the lower house of the Mexican Congress approved a bill officially instituting the separation of church and state....The bill passed 363 in favor with one 'no' vote and one abstention. It 'guarantees the autonomy of institutions from religious norms, rules and convictions..."

"Moroccan authorities raided [the orphanage] Village of Hope and said they were expelling the 20 workers and parents. The 33 children who were being cared for cried out 'hysterically' for their foster parents as they were left behind.... Lately Morocco has taken a tyrannical stance against Christians, forcibly deporting foreigners and bringing charges against the Moroccan nationals they associated with.”

"Sweden is forcing Iraqi Christian refugees to leave its country. This will put the lives of Iraqi Christians in greater danger.... Swedish hospitality was beginning to diminish."

Intellectual Bigotry

Bigotry—a stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own.

Am I the only one who is sick of it or are we just so conditioned to sit obediently in the pew that we have forgotten how to stand up and fight? How long are we going to allow ourselves to be treated as second-class citizens in the land for which our fathers fought and died?

My blood boils over the way Christians have permitted the elitists to have silenced us. I can think of no other people-group who has permitted their system of beliefs to be so totally disregarded as those of us who proudly espouse Faith in Jesus.

Secular Humanism’s Sad Legacy

As in 1933, humanists still believe that traditional theism, especially faith in the prayer-hearing God, assumed to live and care for persons, to hear and understand their prayers, and to be able to do something about them, is an unproved and outmoded faith. Salvationism, based on mere affirmation, still appears as harmful, diverting people with false hopes of heaven hereafter. Reasonable minds look to other means for survival.

Quicken Me? What does that Mean?

Have you ever had a morning when you woke up and got out of bed, but never seemed to actually wake up all day long? Did you feel like you were in some sort of stupor? Maybe you took an allergy pill or some other medication that made you groggy. Maybe you just never went into a sound sleep the night before and are just so exhausted you are barely functioning. The cure for such grogginess might be to slug down a really strong caffeine drink and then go for a fast walk in some sort of rotten weather.
