Effectiveness... Is My House In Order?

I have been sitting here all day wondering what to write. There is so much happening in the world today that I started asking myself questions.
What would I do if there was an EMP attack? (Electro-magnetic pulse)
What would I do if there was some sort of NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) attack where I live?
What happens if all paper currency instantly becomes worthless? This includes all bank, stock, investment accounts. Anything attached to paper currency.
Do I have anything that I can use as “hard” currency or for trade?
Do I have enough drinkable water on hand?
Do I have enough food on hand?
Am I prepared to conduct all church functions here at home?
How many bibles do I have on hand?
Do I have a means to ensure the health and welfare of my family and a means to protect my home?
Does my family understand and can also protect the health and welfare of the home?
This is just a sample, but you get the idea. But do you know the question that started this cascade of questions?
Is my house in order so that in any season we can share the gospel of the Lord and the blessed hope of His soon return?
Do you know what caused me to question? The empty water bottles! The empty water bottles that are just sitting in my laundry room waiting to be filled and stored. You see, we save our empty drinking water bottles with a screw on top. I just add 8 drops of bleach to a gallon, screw the top on, date it with a “Sharpie” and store it. But I am digressing here…
Do me a favor and contemplate on these verses.
1Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Luke 19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Joshua 24:15b …but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Is your house in order? If so how much? There are many things taking place in today’s world. Our way of life could change over night.
Do me another favor and seriously think about the following. We have the chance to be truly prepared “… to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the HOPE that is in you with meekness and fear:” (emphasis mine)
Are we truly ready?
Are we truly “occupying” till He comes?
How effective for the Lord will we be if tomorrow changed over night?
How effective are we right now?
