Christianity inspired Harry Potter Minimize

J K Rowling: 'Christianity inspired Harry Potter'
By Ray Gano
ray_sm.jpg

“J K Rowling: 'Christianity inspired Harry Potter”

WHAT???

Yep, that was the headline in the London Telegraph.

Pretty amazing!

If you really believe that, I got a bridge I can sell you along with some great swampland.

Here is how the article opens…

"The pope may have condemned the Harry Potter books, but J K Rowling has now revealed that Christianity has been one of her major inspirations.

Breaking her silence on the much-debated question as to whether religious themes permeate her books, Rowling confirmed that they echoed her personal struggle with faith.” (1)

In today's pluralistic relative ideas and liberal theology, this sounds peachy - keen and makes so much sense. The world rejoices in Rowling and her so called profession.

Here is what Rowling says about her books...

"To me, the religious parallels have always been obvious," Rowling said. "But I never wanted to talk too openly about it because I thought it might show people who just wanted the story where we were going." (1)

But here is the kicker...

"At the end of her latest and final installment in the series, there are specific references to Christianity and themes of life after death and resurrection.”

“At one point Harry visits his parents' graves and finds two biblical passages inscribed on their tombstones. "(1)

Well praise the Lord and pass the potatoes!

HEY ETHEL.. These here are CHRISTIAN BOOKS fer sure. They got bible verses on some tombstones!

Do you realize there are luke warm carnal Christians that have that exact ideals?

But here is a very troubling statement from Rowling...

"On any given moment if you asked me if I believe in life after death, I think if you polled me regularly through the week, I think I would come down on the side of yes - that I do believe in life after death.

"But it's something I wrestle with a lot. It preoccupies me a lot, and I think that's very obvious within the books." (1)

When someone is a washed in the blood Christian, they have no question as to where they will spend eternity. In fact, they don’t question eternity at all. Why is that?

Here is what Christ stated...

John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:10 (KJV) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

It is promises like the ones above which we as blood bought souls cleave too.

Are we judges of another's heart? No, but we learn in Matthew 7:20 that we are called to use our common sense and be fruit inspectors.

Matthew 7:20 (KJV) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Folks, Rowling is “religious” and “spiritual” but based upon her fruits, I highly doubt she is a blood bought soul who professes Christ as her personal savior.

Her knowledge and involvement in the black arts, which are very in depth, are also fruits that need to be inspected. In fact she seems to know much more about the black arts than she does about the Word of God.

Here is what God’s word says concerning the black arts..

Deuteronomy 18:10 (KJV) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

Deuteronomy 18:11 (KJV) Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

Deuteronomy 18:12 (KJV) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Just in case you do not understand the definition of “abomination” here is what Webster’s Dictionary 1824 says…

ABOMINA'TION, n.

1. Extreme hatred; detestation.

2. The object of detestation, a common signification in scripture.

The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord. Prov 15.

3. Hence, defilement, pollution, in a physical sense, or evil doctrines and practices, which are moral defilements, idols and idolatry, are called abominations. The Jews were an abomination to the Egyptians; and the sacred animals of the Egyptians were an abomination to the Jews. The Roman army is called the abomination of desolation. Mat 24:13. In short, whatever is an object of extreme hatred, is called an abomination.

Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

The article ends with the following…

“Christians have been divided about the books, with some claiming that their popularity should be exploited to spread the Christian message.”

The problem is these so called “Christians” who are divided and stand with Rowling, are not keeping the Lord’s commandments.

Many of these people quote, “We are saved by grace.”

That is true, but they often forget the second part and that is we then need to keep His commandments.

John 14:15 (KJV)  If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1 John 2:3 (KJV)  And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

1 John 3:22 (KJV)  And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Often these carnal Christians use “saved by grace” as a license to sin and then get bent out of shape when they are reminded about the Father’s commandments.

You see, the law and His commandments are instruction and guidelines, that if we follow them, they will enrich our lives greatly, but if ignored, they will diminish our lives and lead to the path of rebellion.

1 Samuel 15:23(KJV) For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee…

Galatians 5:19-21(KJV) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

The things of the world today, I just keep shaking my head. But we know that all of these things are signs of the last days.

A final warning from God’s word…

Isaiah 5:20 (KJV)  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Isaiah 8:20 (KJV) to the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Romans 8:7 (KJV)  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

James 4:4 (KJV)  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Who Do You Serve?

Jesus stated the following…

John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If you do not have Christ in your life, you will spend eternity in hell. This is a fact. It does not matter if you believe this or not, it is the truth spoken by Jesus himself. If your name is not written in the Lambs Book of Life you will go to hell for what you have not done and that is accepting Christ as your personal savior. To be placed in the Lamb Book of Life, you need to turn your life completely over to Him. Having “head” knowledge or “just believing in Christ” is not the same as having “heart” knowledge with Christ living in your heart.  We know that even the devils believe in Him, where are they spending eternity?

James 2:19 (KJV)  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

We work hard at Prophezine to show that Bible Prophecy is coming to pass. Because of this fact, the Bible is true. Since the Bible is the true and inerrant word of God, there is a heaven and there is a hell.

If you claim the title of “Christian” then take account of yourself this day. Many claim the title, but we read in God’s Word that the title does not get you into heaven.

Matthew 7:21(KJV)  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22(KJV) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23(KJV) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Who you serve will determine where you will spend eternity. If you are not serving Christ and a true child of God, then you are serving Satan and a child of the enemy.

If you are not 110% sure, then take account of yourself, your very life depends upon it.

1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God's Word  Minimize

Phillipians 4:4-9 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests  be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds  through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever  things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if  there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard,  and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
